Six-year-old Alan had spent his short life yearning for a mother he had never known. Abandoned at birth, he was left to navigate the harsh realities of life in a foster home, where taunts from other children deepened his loneliness. Yet Alan never stopped hoping. A Cry for Help

One Sunday, Alan stood before the crucifix in church, tears streaming down his face. “Dear Jesus,” he pleaded, “they told me you hear everyone. Please send my mommy to me. I just want to be with her like other kids.” His guardian, Nancy, tried to calm him, but Alan’s heartache spilled over.

A Mother Revealed

“My boy,” the woman said tearfully. “I’ve come for you. I’m your mother.”

Nancy, protective of Alan, demanded proof. The woman introduced herself as Annette and pulled out a photograph of herself cradling a newborn. “This is Alan,” she explained. “I left him at the shelter’s doorstep six years ago.”

Nancy was shocked. “How could you abandon your baby? What kind of mother does that?” she demanded.

Through tears, Annette shared her story. At 16, she had fallen pregnant, only to be abandoned by her boyfriend. Her parents gave her an impossible choice: give up the baby or lose their support and inheritance. Heartbroken and overwhelmed, Annette left her baby at the shelter, hoping he’d find a better life.

“I’ve regretted it every day,” she confessed. “I couldn’t forget him. I visited this church often, hoping to see him. Today, I heard his cries, and I knew I couldn’t stay away anymore.”

Determined to make amends, Annette initiated the legal process to regain custody of Alan. DNA tests confirmed their bond, and Alan finally went home with his mother. However, the reunion came at a steep cost.

Annette’s parents disowned her, severing ties and cutting her off from their wealth. Worse, her husband, Jason, who knew about her past, turned against her. “I married you knowing about your mistakes, but I never agreed to bring that child into our lives,” he said. Filing for divorce, Jason left, taking no responsibility for Alan.
