Family shares emotional story of 4-year-old boy’s sudden illness — urging other parents to be aware of subtle symptoms

What began as a joyful family getaway ended in unimaginable sorrow for the Knowles family, who are now sharing their story in the hope of raising awareness about a little-known but serious illness.

Four-year-old Jaxon Knowles had been on a short holiday to Blackpool with his parents, Sammy and Jordan Knowles. The trip was meant to be a special family memory, filled with laughter and relaxation. But shortly after returning home on February 16, Jaxon began feeling unwell.

“At first, he said his arm hurt and that he felt tired,” his mother recalled in an interview with Yorkshire Live. “Later, he said his tummy hurt, and he just wanted to sleep in our bed like he always did when he didn’t feel good.”

Assuming it was a common illness, Sammy gave him a low dose of medication to ease his symptoms, as they had done in the past. But by early the next morning, she noticed something alarming.
