Soft and Fluffy Cinnamon-Walnut Rolls with Cream Cheese Frosting

Ingredients:

Ingredient Quantity
All-purpose flour 3 cups
Granulated  sugar 1/4 cup
Baking powder 2 tablespoons
Salt 1 teaspoon
Unsalted butter, softened 1/3 cup
Large egg 1
 Milk 1 1/2 cups
Ground cinnamon 4-5 tablespoons
Packed brown sugar 2 cups
Softened butter 3/4 cup

Instructions:

  1. Prepare the Dough:

    • Combine flour, sugar, baking powder, and salt in a large bowl.
    • Cut in softened butter until the mixture resembles coarse crumbs.
    • Whisk together egg and milk in a separate bowl.
    • Gradually add wet ingredients to dry ingredients, stirring until a soft dough forms.
  2. Roll Out the Dough:

    • Roll out the dough into a large rectangle, about 1/4 inch thick, on a lightly floured surface.
  3. Add the Filling:

    • Spread softened butter evenly over the surface of the dough.
    • Sprinkle cinnamon-sugar mixture evenly over the buttered dough.
  4. Roll Up the Dough:

    • Roll up the dough into a log, starting from one long edge.
    • Slice the Rolls:

      • Slice the log into 12 equal-sized rolls using a sharp knife.
    • Bake the Rolls:

      • Place rolls in a greased baking dish, leaving space between each roll.
      • Cover with a clean kitchen towel and let rise in a warm place for about 30 minutes.
      • Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C).
      • Bake risen rolls for 25-30 minutes, or until golden brown.
    • Serve and Enjoy:

      • Let rolls cool slightly before serving.
      • Drizzle with icing if desired.
