Learned this dish from my Amish friend, and it’s absolutely divine

In the realm of comfort food, few dishes rival the wholesome satisfaction of an Amish Country  Casserole. Bursting with flavor and simplicity, this timeless recipe has graced family tables for generations, offering warmth and nourishment with each savory bite

Ingredients:

Ingredients Quantity
Lean ground beef 1.5 pounds
Onion (chopped) 1
Pasta 1 pound
Olive oil 1 tablespoon
Milk 1 cup
Minced garlic 2 teaspoons
Condensed tomato soup One 22.6-ounce can
Condensed mushroom soup One 22.6-ounce can
Salt To taste
Black pepper To taste
Paprika 1/2 teaspoon
Dried parsley (optional) 1/2 teaspoon
Shredded cheese (optional) As desired

Instructions:

  1. Preparation: Begin by preheating your oven to 350°F (175°C). Cook the  pasta according to package instructions, drain, and set aside.
  2. Sautéing the Base: In a large skillet, heat olive oil over medium heat. Add chopped onion and minced garlic, sautéing until the onion turns translucent. Incorporate the lean ground beef, cooking until browned and fully cooked. Drain any excess fat.
  3. Combining the Soups: In a separate bowl, blend the condensed tomato soup, condensed mushroom soup, and milk until thoroughly combined.
  4. Assembling the Casserole: Combine the cooked beef, pasta, and soup mixture in the skillet. Season with salt and black pepper to taste. Transfer the mixture to a greased casserole dish. Optionally, sprinkle shredded cheese over the top, followed by paprika and dried parsley for an extra burst of flavor.
  5. Baking: Place the casserole dish in the preheated oven and bake for approximately 30 minutes, or until the casserole is hot and bubbly, with a golden hue.
