It was getting late for Bob Hollis.

Bob\u2019s voice sharpened. \u201cAre you saying I have to stay here for several more days? I don\u2019t know anyone here, and I was supposed to return home today.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cI\u2019m very sorry, sir,\u201d she said as she turned to the next person in line. \u201cThat\u2019s the policy.\u201d<\/p>\n
With nightfall approaching and no options left, Bob thought of Mrs. Sticks\u2014the kind volunteer from the hospital. Though he didn\u2019t want to burden her, he had no other choice.<\/p>\n
\u201cHello, Meredith,\u201d he said over the phone. \u201cI could really use your help.\u201d<\/p>\n
\u201cCompassion still exists in this world,\u201d he reminded himself.<\/p>\n
Bob ended up staying over a week at Mrs. Sticks\u2019 house before returning to Texas.<\/p>\n
Even his newborn daughter seemed to love the woman\u2014her face would light up and smile at the sound of her voice. Deeply touched by her kindness, Bob often referred to her as a true angel.<\/p>\n
