Chillingly, he took a selfie with the animal just before it attacked him.<\/p>\n<p>The incident happened in Romania. 48-year-old Omar Farang Zin died after getting attacked by\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/www.wideopenspaces.com\/bear-on-board-mama-bear-ferries-her-adorable-cubs-across-a-massive-reservoir\/\">a bear<\/a>\u00a0near the Vidraru Dam. He had been riding his motorcycle on the Transfagarasan Highway when he stopped. He noticed the creatue on the side of the road and decided to try to feed it.<\/p>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_6-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">&#8220;He got off his motorcycle and offered the bear food,&#8221; Armand Chiriloiu, the director of the Arges Forestry Directorate, told Romanian outlet\u00a0<a href=\"https:\/\/observatornews.ro\/eveniment\/el-este-italianul-ucis-de-ursoaica-pe-transfagarasan-momentul-atacului-624332.html?fbclid=IwY2xjawLUTsVleHRuA2FlbQIxMABicmlkETAwZVM4UzVxY0RRWGRqUGVVAR64V5VU5lijC2TDt_1Kj4lZtvUXKOP7eoJsBuhL4Hs0zumrNL9cRaEJRU2uAQ_aem_gCSEIyhHVXDMd7QI5ac3RA\" rel=\"nofollow\" data-component=\"link\" data-source=\"inlineLink\" data-type=\"externalLink\" data-ordinal=\"1\">Observator News<\/a>. &#8220;The Italian tourist&#8217;s phone was also found, which contained some pictures prior to the attack. Even though he was wearing a helmet and full protective gear, it wasn&#8217;t enough.&#8221;<\/div>\n<h2>Brown Bear Mauls Motorcyclist<\/h2>\n<div>According to officials, he ignored the signs not to feed the animals. Hunters later shot and killed the bear.\u00a0&#8220;My advice is simple: do not stop, do not feed them, and keep your distance,&#8221; Sanduloiu added, per the outlet.<\/div>\n<div><\/div>\n<div>The animal proved to be aggressive.<\/div>\n<p id=\"mntl-sc-block_23-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-html\">&#8220;The bear followed us the whole time,&#8221; Dragos Onea of the Arges County Mountain Rescue Service told the outlet. &#8220;She was very agitated. She attacked us a few times too. We also had [hunters] from Silvic. They were pointing their rifles at her the whole time.&#8221;<\/p>\n<div id=\"mntl-sc-block_24-0\" class=\"comp mntl-sc-block mntl-sc-block-adslot mntl-block\">Romania has between 10,400 to 12,800 brown bears. It has the largest population in Europe. Sadly, humans end up coming into fatal encounters with the animal. In this case, it was truly the motorcyclist&#8217;s fault.
