\u201cThis is a tremendous result,\u201d said Georgina Anderson, a senior field ecologist with AWC. \u201cNot only are the quolls surviving, but they\u2019re also reproducing successfully. That tells us they\u2019re adapting well to the sanctuary\u2019s environment.\u201d<\/p>\n

AWC\u2019s broader reintroduction plan includes careful relocation of quolls from established populations to new safe zones like Mt. Gibson. These efforts aim to build stronger, more genetically diverse populations and reduce the risk of extinction.<\/p>\n

The sighting of pouch young is particularly meaningful, as it signals not just survival but the beginning of a new generation in the wild.
