On a vacation to France, Schmidt noticed unusual bowel habits but blamed it on rich food, not realizing it was an early warning sign.<\/p>\n<div class=\"code-block code-block-8\">\n<div id=\"primedailys.com_responsive_2\" data-google-query-id=\"CJ6Z47DxhY4DFYwpBgAdPYkEWg\">\n<div id=\"google_ads_iframe_\/23207117756\/primedailys.com\/primedailys.com_responsive_2_0__container__\"><\/div>\n<\/div>\n<\/div>\n<p data-start=\"1876\" data-end=\"2135\">She later experienced intense abdominal pain upon returning to Australia, describing it as \u201cworse than childbirth.\u201d Although a doctor cleared her, Schmidt emphasizes that cancer was not being looked for. This oversight contributed to the late-stage diagnosis.<\/p>\n<p data-start=\"2137\" data-end=\"2372\">Now 47, Schmidt is advocating for more openness around bowel-related symptoms, which are often stigmatized and overlooked.
